We have an amazing opportunity to build a successful business, literally from our laptops and an internet connection. We can work from wherever, hence me being here in California, in the trees, making this video! Just to prove a point that we can do this from wherever and every single one of us can make it happen. So, here are my five top tips for building a wildly successful business. So my first tip is that you have to have to get the mindset for success, in order to build a successful business. No ifs and or buts about it, you need to have the right mindset. The number one reason why businesses fail it’s because of what is going on in the entrepreneur’s mind. It is crazy. You can be consumed with so many doubts so many fears because you’ re doing something you’ve never done before and it is terrifying, so every single day you need to condition yourself for success. You need to literally train your brain to create your successful business, to get out of your own way and to move past the fears and get on with taking the action you need to take. So surround yourself by all things successful, from quotes to books to videos to podcasts, to help fuel your mind in the right way, so that you can achieve incredible things. So Number One: get the mindset for success. So the second thing I want to share is that you have to get amazingly good at marketing your business. So, you need to get really really clear on what your business message is, who your audience is, and then you need to expand your reach; you need to learn how you can reach out to your audience and get them to know about you, and then get them to fall in love with you. You need to be doing this and focusing on this every single day.
Literally ask yourself, “What am I gonna do today to market my business successfully, to get my business out there, to expand my reach?” If you focus on that, you are gonna be on your way to building an incredibly successful business. So, the third thing you need to do in order to build a successful business it’s learning how to sell. So, you can do this in so many different ways: through webinars, through video series, through checklists, through free consultations; there are so many different ways depending on the type of business that you run. But what I would say is: figure out what one route you’re gonna go down and get really good at it. Whether that’s hosting really successful webinars, whether it’s learning how to run incredibly successful Facebook Ads, pick something and become amazing at that one thing, become amazing at selling your services – or your offering / your product / your service – through that one thing. So the fourth thing is getting really really good at setting up the systems and processes for your business. This is one thing but we entrepreneurs tend to completely forget about and then we end up in a mess, so to build a successful business you have to have the systems and processes in place so that you can scale your business. So, you could start using something like Asana, which is free, to start documenting your processes. I actually made a video all about the FEA business hub. The fifth and final step is to build out your team. Now, you might not do this right from the beginning. You’ll probably start just with yourself and then expand as you go, but that is something you have to do is to get your team in place as you build your business. Otherwise, you’re going to become a bottleneck, you’re gonna feel like you’re suffocating your entire business; it is not a good feeling. So, get really clear on who you could bring on board that can offer different expertise to what you have. So, whether it’s that you don’t feel like you need to be sifting through your customer support emails anymore, maybe you can get someone on board to come and take care of that. Identify all the different roles of the people that you want to start bringing on board and maybe you’ll just start by bringing one person on board and then another. But getting really clear on that it’s going to help you to scale so much more successfully. So, think through who you would love to come and work inside of your business. And also, this doesn’t need to be full-time people.
This can be contractors, part-time people, you can hire people with specific expertise on websites like Upwork or Fiverr, and find people to come and do things for you at a really low cost. So don’t freak out or get overwhelmed thinking that it’s gonna be really really expensive because it doesn’t always have to be.
